As your Councilwoman, Lisa has focused on our city’s financial health and solvency by carefully reviewing and allocating our $31 million budget. She has also addressed public health issues, infrastructure needs, population growth and its demands, and continued to promote annual tree plantings with Tree City USA.
Using her life experience as a wife, mother, and neighbor, combined with her professional work as an attorney and Administrative Law Judge and her experience on North Salt Lake’s City Council and Planning Commission, Lisa really knows her stuff. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Lisa Baskin is a local citizen who genuinely wants to help you and our city through her experienced and capable leadership. Her governmental law work has included legal representation to cities along the Wasatch Front regarding ethics provisions, ordinance drafting, policy analysis, city council work, and citizen initiatives and referenda. Lisa serves on North Salt Lake’s City Council, Tree City Board, Senior Lunch Bunch, and the Legislative Policy Committee with the Utah League of Cities and Towns. She is your Mayor Pro Tem. She practices law at a private firm and as an Administrative Law Judge.
Lisa has served on numerous boards including the Real Women Run Executive Committee, Founding Member; Utah Foster Care Foundation, Executive Board and Chair; Guardian Ad Litem Oversight Committee; Voices for Utah Children Executive Board; and the Utah Constitutional Revision Commission, Executive Director. She clerked at the Utah Supreme Court, and has lawyered at the Utah State Legislature, in law firm practice, sole practice, and is an Administrative Law Judge. She is licensed to practice law in Utah state and federal courts, California, District of Columbia, and the United States Supreme Court. She is a graduate of Utah State University, University of Oregon, and J. Reuben Clark Law School, BYU.
